Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher Job Opening – Portland, OR
A school district in Portland, OR has an opening for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher. The DHH teacher will provide instruction and program planning for Special Education students with deafness, hearing impairment, and/or deaf-blindness. The position will be full-time (approximately 30-40 hours/week.) The ideal candidate will have prior experience providing Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction to students in an educational setting. Additionally, the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher should be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher – Essential Duties:


  • Identify knowledge gaps and skill deficits of individual students
  • Prepare Individual Education Plan goals and objectives
  • Create materials to target individual student needs
  • Lead literacy and math tutorials for small groups
  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues
