ProCare Therapy is working with a very supportive and close knit school district in the Fairbanks, Alaska area that has the following Special Education Teaching job openings for the upcoming school year. All jobs are K-12 with very small caseloads of between 8-16 students. These are very unique and non-traditional openings. Out of state candidates are welcome to apply and we will be able to assist with housing and meals and incidentals. 

Alaska SPED Jobs include: 

  • Full Time Resource setting. Each village has teacher housing. Rent is paid out of checks $700-800/month. Wifi and utilities are included. Utilities are included. Cable is optional and can be paid separately. 1.5 hours from Fairbanks Alaska. 
  • Full time Self Contained setting: A combination of middle and elementary school generalist position/SPED position About 4 students require IEP’s. Small caseloads. Rent is paid out of checks $700-800/month. Wifi and utilities are included. Utilities are included. Cable is optional and can be paid separately.
  • SPED Home School Advisory Teacher Position: based in Fairbanks (office job not in classroom). In close contact with students and parents, maintain paperwork for students help with school curriculum. Special Education and regular education.  Will have their own office and is more of an administrative position. Housing and meals and incidentals stipends for out of state candiidates.  

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Alaska Type T certification and regular education certificate for home school advisor position. Candidates with pending certifications or that are willing to get started on the process in Alaska are welcome. 

Schools have cultural trips and programs, cultural nights, cultural camps for students and dog sledding. In the fall and spring of each year there are weekend camping trips. Located near the Yukon River an extremely beautiful location and really nice communities.
