Schools - Orientation and Mobility Specialist

We at Procare are in need of an Orientation Mobility Specialist as soon as possible in Liberty, MO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing orientation and mobility (O&M) instruction for students with visual impairments to travel independently and safely. This is a full-time position for a full school year. Supportive work environment, K-12th grade setting, only 10-12 students.
Job Requirements Include:
Successful completion of the Missouri’s Orientation and Mobility Intern program
Successful completion of an approved college or university orientation and mobility program which includes study in such areas as the history of orientation and mobility, the psychological effects of blindness, identification of common eye disorders, sensory devices and travel techniques, and a practicum in orientation and mobility
Possession of a valid Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist certificate issued by the ACVREP.
